NLLEA Conference

Call for Presentations:

The National Liquor Law Enforcement Association’s 24th Annual Conference: Advancing Liquor Enforcement for a Better Tomorrow will highlight alcohol law enforcement strategies that have either demonstrated or shown great potential for improving public safety at state and local levels. Liquor law enforcement agencies strive to implement and maintain successful enforcement and policy initiatives to reduce crime and violence stemming from illegal and hazardous alcohol use, and these strategies will be highlighted at this conference.

The NLLEA invites you to submit a proposal to present at this year’s conference in Anaheim, California. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your successes and discuss innovative approaches that may reap even greater successes in protecting the public’s safety in the future. We encourage you to consider making a presentation addressing one of the areas detailed below:

  • Innovative Enforcement Strategies – Workshops in this category will draw attention to public safety innovations that strive to optimize the effectiveness of liquor law enforcement operations.  Presentations should demonstrate a significant public safety benefit and include a description of the policy/strategy used as well as the hurdles and successes related to implementation.
  • Research as a Foundation for Success – Workshops in this category will provide information that can assist enforcement agencies, community advocates, and policymakers in their work by using research as a basis for improving enforcement efforts.  Presentations should include a description of the research study and its data types and sources.  Presentations should also reference examples of how research can be used as a foundation for strengthening liquor law enforcement budgets, increasing liquor law enforcement efforts, increasing liquor law enforcement presence in the community or reducing the negative impact of alcohol and tobacco related-problems on the community.
  • Implementation of Innovative Technology in Liquor Law Enforcement – Workshops in this category will offer tangible strategies outlining the implementation of technology in the effective enforcement of liquor laws as it relates to public safety.  Presentations should include a description of technology, address requirements for use of the technology and describe both the benefits and pitfalls of using the technology.  Preference will be given to presentation proposals that include examples of its use in “real world” settings.
