NLLEA Conference

Call for Presentations:

The National Liquor Law Enforcement Association’s 22nd Annual Conference: Enhancing Public Safety through Liquor Enforcement will highlight alcohol law enforcement strategies that have improved public safety at state and local levels. Liquor law enforcement agencies implement and maintain successful enforcement and policy initiatives to reduce crime and violence stemming from illegal and hazardous alcohol use.  Increasingly, communities look to partner with liquor law enforcement experts to reduce alcohol-related crimes in order to create safer communities.

The NLLEA invites you to submit a proposal to present at this year’s conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your successes and share lessons learned from your experiences in enhancing public safety through liquor enforcement. We encourage you to consider making a presentation addressing one of the areas detailed below:

  • Public Safety and Innovative Enforcement Strategies – Workshops in this category will focus on innovative liquor law enforcement strategies designed to improve public safety.  Presentations should demonstrate a significant public safety benefit and include a description of the policy/strategy used as well as the hurdles and successes related to implementation.  Please include any available data to support the efficiency of partnering to address liquor law enforcement issues.
  • Research as a Foundation for Success – Workshops in this category will provide information that can assist enforcement agencies, community advocates, and policymakers in their work by using research as a basis for improving enforcement efforts.  Presentations should include a description of the research study and its data types and sources.  Presentations should also reference examples of how research can be used as a foundation for strengthening liquor law enforcement budgets, increasing liquor law enforcement efforts, increasing liquor law enforcement presence in the community or reducing the negative impact of alcohol and tobacco related-problems on the community.
  • Innovative Implementation of Technology in Liquor Law Enforcement – Workshops in this category will offer tangible strategies outlining the implementation of technology in the effective enforcement of liquor laws as it relates to public safety.  Presentations should include a description of technology, address requirements for use of the technology and describe both the benefits and pitfalls of using the technology.  Preference will be given to presentation proposals that include examples of its use in “real world” settings.
